Sick.

William and I have caught the nasty head cold that has been going around. Poor little guy has such a stuffy noise. We are going to stay indoors and watch lots of old films and read some good books this week.

Food, Teeth and Boots

He almost fits into his little rubber boots.

William is working on tooth number eight so we thought brush his many teeth would be healthy. And he loves it.

These carrots came out of my mother's garden. They are the best carrots I think we have ever had. They make wonderful soup.

Now that William is beginning he seems to be getting into everything. Digging into cupboards, climbing on chairs, opening drawers and so much more! He loves to eat, so if there is any kind of food in his reach it is soon spread all over the floor.

Mica Mountain.

Last Saturday Eddie and I took advantage of the beautiful weather and went for a hike up Mica Mountain just outside of Deary. William just loves the outdoors and both father and son were fascinated by all the colorful and neat rocks.

Wallowa Camping.

Labor Day weekend we had a wedding in Wallowa. Instead of trying to find a place to stay with took our tent and made a fun family camping trip out of it. It was cold and muddy but as always, Wallowa was beautiful.

Trip to Riggins and Beyond....

Another Monday, another week alone. The thought was less than appealing. So I called my sister down in Boise to see if I could crash at her place for a few days. The 2 1/2 hour drive to to Riggins, ID was uneventful. William loves the car. If he is not sleeping he is staring out the window at the world flying by. We stayed with Eddie the first night at his motel in Riggins. It was nice to see him in the middle of the week. The following morning we packed up and made the last 3 1/2 hour drive down to Boise. It was so wonderful to see Jamie and Sam. William had such a great time playing with all of Auntie Jamie's toys and their two dogs Athena and Daisy.

My Wallowa Getaway....

Here are some long overdue photos.
A month or so ago William and I took a last minute trip down to Wallowa County to visit Lindsey and Darcy who were house sitting for some friends. Eddie was gone for work again and I was tired of being home alone for yet another week, so a vacation seemed like a grand idea. And it was. The Wallowa mountains were as magnificent as ever, the lake was crisp and clear, and Lindsey and Darcy were wonderful hostesses. We spent the mornings sitting on the patio enjoying the view, amazing coffee and some time to crochet. We went shopping in Joseph, visited friend in Enterprise and went to Wallowa lake for a quick and cool swim. In the evening we visited and made baklava. William and Darcy had a wonderful time too. Darcy sat around like a sweet little girl while William tried to poke her in the eyes. We got home just in time to unpack and clean up a bit before Eddie came home. It was perfect.
