First Birthday

William turned one on Saturday. Where did my year go? How fast things seem to be going.
Eddie and I took William to the park on his birthday. He loves the park! He climbed on the playground, slid down slides and ran around in the grass field till his little legs could carry him no further.

On Sunday we had a small party for William. A few friends and family came over after church for lunch and we opened presents and had mini cupcakes. He received way to many toys and enjoyed being the center of attention much more than any little boy should.

Pumpkin Carving

We stole a few pumpkins from my parent's garden, invited Auntie Sara over and spent a lovely evening carving pumpkins and drinking hot apple cider.

My little Monster...

I was not going to dress William up for Halloween but I ran across this adorable costume at a thrift store in Coos Bay, Or that I just could not resist.
We taught William to roar and went to visit Great Grandma Paul and Grandma and Grandpa. They loved him.

The Great Getaway

Last week Eddie finished his summer project with Cutty's and we felt like celebrating. It had been a long summer and a family vacation was the perfect end to a stressful summer. And what better place to relax than on the ocean.

It was a long 12 hour drive but it was worth it. The weather was amazing and the Oregon coast was a beautiful as ever. We even made it down to the Redwood Forest in California.
I posted a lot more photos on facebook. So if you have the courage go check them out.

Pierce, Id

William and I took a trip down to visit Eddie about a month ago when he was working up in Pierce on the road construction surveying crew. First we got lost on the drive up. With all the road construction, we ended up driving up a road that had been closed down and somehow I missed the signs saying "CLOSED". That added an extra hour to our 2 1/2 hour drive. We finally pulled in after dark to the dingy motel Eddie was staying in. He had dinner ready for us when we got there which consisted of a microwave meal for both of us and beer. It was lovely. The next morning we all woke early, Eddie left to work and William and I piled back into the car and drove home. It was a lovely drive in the light.

Sick.

William and I have caught the nasty head cold that has been going around. Poor little guy has such a stuffy noise. We are going to stay indoors and watch lots of old films and read some good books this week.
